Using the Monthpad

What is the Monthpad?

The Monthpad is a “TaskQuark pad” to show the tasks events in a given month.

The Monthpad provides a monthly view of the tasks, showing different events for each day of the month. Also, the task are shown in different colors depending on their state.

Tip

The very same task can be shown multiple times in the same week, depending on the time and date of its different events and repetitions. Use the Select option in the task context menu to select all the occurrences of that task. Or press Crtl+Click to select them all.

The current day of the month is shown by a light yellow color in the background of the pad. The weekends are also marked with a light, grey color in the background of the pad.

How to Use the Monthpad

To create a new task, click on the green plus icon at the top the pad. The Task form will be displayed where you can enter the task title, description, and other details (see Working with Tasks).

You can also double-click on an empty cell in the Monthpad to create a new task with the work start date and time of that cell.

You can move tasks events in the Monthpad by dragging and dropping them to the desired day. The start, end, due and target dates of the task will be updated accordingly.

However, the task repetitions will not be updated. To change the scheduled repetitions of a task, you should edit the task schedule.

If you double-click on the header of day in the Monthpad, you will jump to the Todopad for that date.

Tasks in the Monthpad

A task may or may not be shown on the Monthpad, depending on the task state, scheduled work time and the task events. By default, no task repetitions are shown on the Monthpad to keep the calendar uncluttered, only the task events are shown. However, it will appear by default if it is a pinned task. And if the task has set a filter for a weekday, a day in the month, or a month, or if it is pinned, this will affect whether the task is shown or not.

A task with more than one task event date can be shown more than once, with different event marks, if those events happen at different moments in time.

Only if you select the “toggle ongoing task” option in the Monthpad, they will be shown for every day of the month.

Simple ToDo items

These tasks have no start and end dates and do not appear in the Monthpad for any month, even if they are set in the “doing” state. They will only be shown, with an event mark in the date of the corresponding due date or target date, if they have one set.

ToDo items

Task event marks are always displayed in the Monthpad for ToDo items with a start or end dates, but with no scheduled work time, if any of these event dates happen in the current month.
